Breastplates_process_MAPPING

Well, what can I say? You have been completely wonderful in your responses to this spontaneous project. I can't thank you enough.

It's all go in the studio and I'm going to have work my butt off in the coming hours, but there's nothing I'd rather be doing than this right now.

Here are two pics showing what I call the 'mapping' process. . . I think the composition's going to take shape around the idea of Northern hemisphere meets Southern, and East meets West. . .

More from me as things take shape. Back to my turtle shells, paper tape, strings 'n things. . .

Humble beginnings

  2. I'm very very excited for you. To feel that last push before something beautiful is born. Happy painting!

I wish I'd been able to take this piece further but as you know by now, time meant it 'had to' morph into something else. I'm home now and this landscape of turtle shells/breastplates/multi-chambered hearts is on my easel, waiting. . .
First, I need to sleep for a month! I promise to share more of the process when I - and it, the painting - wake up and start moving forward again.
Gestation periods can be unpredictable; sometimes driving both mother and midwives a wee bit nuts.
Can I ask you to 'bear' with me, please?
    Thank you. L, C x ; )

  8. PS. I hope you spotted your words wrapping around one of the long, white coastlines.
