Carefully wash

Outside, the full moon.

Inside, my daughter, The Little Prince, lamplight and me.

"'It's a question of discipline,' the little prince informed me later on. 'When you finish washing and dressing each morning, you must carefully wash and dress your planet. . . '"

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - The Little Prince

And do read this beautiful piece - Moonlight, Dog, Bell - by Mark Doty.

  1. Very nicely done Claire. I missed the moon last night with overcast.

  2. Hi Steve - we were fortunate to be able to see her here last night; splendid and spell-binding. Happy Mid-West Spring, by the way!

  3. Hi Claire, The spring/fall moon was grand, so bright and big and close at hand. Your pictures got it just right. Thank you too for the link to MD, whose post is delightful and whose blog, like yours, endlessly rewarding. L, T

  4. Arriving rain hid the moon here, though my son claimed to have found it behind a palm. Planet tending encompasses so many tasks...in a recently-heard podcast the earth was described as something we ride through space, which we do. Her aspects are of fairy tale dimension: mother, home, transport, nourishment, and that doesn't even begin to account for the other passengers. xo
