  6. This morning I've been musing on the nature of our seemingly constant rain in Seattle these past few days, how everyone complains, and yet I love that water falls from the sky -- an unasked-for blessing. And then here you are, your blog entry echoing these sentiments half a world away.

  9. Andrew - hi, and thanks.
re; Antarctica - I was privileged to go down there for two summer research seasons, three years apart (2005 and 2008) - not through Creative NZ, but with a team of US polar biologists and research divers. The experience changed my life in minute and dramatic ways. I am almost daily thankful that Antarctica has somehow become an ongoing part of my life's script.

I hope things are steadying for you and yours, Andrew - take care. Claire

  12. Dear Melissa

I love the idea of you wanting to take out your paints. . . I've been wanting to tell you that I've been spending time on your website, looking/watching/listening. Your portrait of Joyce Watson 'How to Fight' is an extraordinarily compelling and honouring piece of work. It has love written all over it.

    Thank you - L, C

  14. The link is an extraordinary expansion/extension of your painting, or vice versa. I feel I've been called to a still corner for a significant blessing...I feel one ought to leave an offering in exchange. How fortunate, I have a pebble in my pocket. Very moving and experiential. Love, M. ((O))
