This morning I've been musing on the nature of our seemingly constant rain in Seattle these past few days, how everyone complains, and yet I love that water falls from the sky -- an unasked-for blessing. And then here you are, your blog entry echoing these sentiments half a world away.
Andrew - hi, and thanks. re; Antarctica - I was privileged to go down there for two summer research seasons, three years apart (2005 and 2008) - not through Creative NZ, but with a team of US polar biologists and research divers. The experience changed my life in minute and dramatic ways. I am almost daily thankful that Antarctica has somehow become an ongoing part of my life's script.
I hope things are steadying for you and yours, Andrew - take care. Claire
Hi Kay - the photo essay of some of our world's sacred waters is wonderful, isn't it? 'Tis good to be reminded of the beauty and wonder that's around us. Looking forward to tomorrow's workshop, too. We will need get the fire cranking, I think! xo
I love the idea of you wanting to take out your paints. . . I've been wanting to tell you that I've been spending time on your website, looking/watching/listening. Your portrait of Joyce Watson 'How to Fight' is an extraordinarily compelling and honouring piece of work. It has love written all over it.
Jane - hello! Lovely to see you again. My blog-roll tells me you have posted new something, too. . . I'm off to find out how you are, where you've been, what has moved you. . . L, C
The link is an extraordinary expansion/extension of your painting, or vice versa. I feel I've been called to a still corner for a significant blessing...I feel one ought to leave an offering in exchange. How fortunate, I have a pebble in my pocket. Very moving and experiential. Love, M. ((O))
These are incredible. In thumbnail they look like photographs. My field supplies are out...:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool painting. I'd love to see it in real life.
